HUIXIN provides China-based 3PL warehousing and fulfillment for pet brands selling through Shopify, TikTok Shop, and other channels. Services include multi-supplier receiving, barcode management, expiration-date control, bundle assembly, branded packaging, flexible peak-season storage, and international shipping.
After a Pet Supplies Brand Scales Up, Warehouse Execution Becomes the Real Bottleneck
The pet economy has continued to grow in recent years, and cross-border pet supplies have benefited from this trend. Whether through Shopify independent websites or TikTok Shop, sellers often grow much faster than their own warehousing teams can expand. At the initial stage of a brand, the supply chain is usually very simple: one or two suppliers, manually recorded inventory, and orders packed one by one. This model works reasonably well for the first few hundred orders.
The real turning point comes after the brand starts scaling up. One leash may come in five colors and four sizes. Add collars, toys, grooming tools, clothing, travel products, and gift-box sets, and the number of SKUs can quickly grow from dozens to hundreds. Once promotional seasons arrive, such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, or TikTok livestream promotions, order volume may multiply several times within a few days. Warehouse staff and space cannot keep up, and delayed shipments, incorrect shipments, and missing items begin to break out all at once. At this point, the brand is no longer dealing with the question of whether it can find suppliers. The real question is how these products can be managed consistently after production is completed.
This is exactly the part HUIXIN handles. For pet brands sourcing from China through Shopify, TikTok Shop, and other channels, we provide China-side 3PL warehousing execution: receiving goods from multiple factories, barcode-based management, expiration-date control, bundle assembly, branded packaging, and international order fulfillment, all completed in one warehouse.
I. Which Pet Supplies Are Suitable for 3PL
Pet supplies can generally be divided into two categories, and they need to be handled differently.
One category is durable goods, such as toys, clothing, food and water bowls, beds and mats, crates, and grooming products. The complexity of these products mainly comes from combinations of sizes and colors.
The other category is pet food and treats, such as chew treats, dental bones, meat snacks, soft food, canned food, and biscuits. In addition to SKU management, these products also require expiration-date control. Without a strict first-in, first-out process, products that are close to expiring or already expired can easily remain in storage, causing unnecessary inventory losses.
HUIXIN’s warehousing processes handle these two categories according to their different characteristics, rather than using one standard procedure for every product category.
II. SKU Complexity Is Often Underestimated
If one leash comes in five sizes from XS to XL and five colors, that single product already represents 25 SKUs. If the brand also sells matching collars, clothing, and travel products, the inventory structure quickly becomes complicated. A medium blue leash and a large blue leash can easily be confused when placed together, while two differently designed collars may use similar packaging.
What makes things even more difficult is that many products sent by factories do not have barcodes. Picking can only rely on warehouse staff identifying products based on experience. Once operations become busy, incorrect shipments and missing items are almost unavoidable, directly affecting the store’s rating.
HUIXIN creates a barcode for every SKU and uses a WMS together with PDA scanning to complete picking and verification. Instead of relying on employees to identify products manually, this approach reduces the workload while also automatically recording data for sorting, stocktaking, and outbound processing. If a problem occurs, it can be traced back to the specific step where it happened.
III. Integrating Multiple Chinese Suppliers into One Warehouse
Most pet e-commerce brands do not rely on only one factory. Collars, toys, grooming tools, and customized packaging may come from four or five different suppliers. If each supplier ships directly to overseas customers, customers may receive several packages with different packaging and different arrival times. The brand has almost no control over the final packaging experience.
HUIXIN’s approach is to have all suppliers first ship their goods to our warehouse in China. The warehouse then centrally completes receiving, counting, quality inspection, classification, and put-away. According to each order, products from different sources are combined and packed into one complete package for shipment.
Upon arrival, basic checks are carried out according to the brand’s requirements, including quantity, size, color, logo position, packaging appearance, and obvious functional problems. Problems that can be identified in China are resolved in China as much as possible, instead of being left to overseas returns and exchanges.
IV. Expiration-Date Management: A Required Solution for Pet Food and Treats

If a brand sells products with expiration dates, such as chew treats, snacks, and canned food, expiration-date control is not an added advantage. It is a necessity.
When products are received into storage, they are recorded in batches according to their production dates. When products are shipped, first-in, first-out is strictly followed. This prevents products close to expiration from remaining at the bottom of the warehouse until they are almost expired.
This is especially important for sellers operating in categories such as pet treats, soft food, and canned food. Once expiration-date management fails to keep up, the consequences may range from inventory losses caused by products nearing expiration to platform rulings that identify the issue as a product-quality problem.
V. Flexible Warehousing During Promotional Seasons
Order volumes for pet supplies fluctuate significantly. Events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day often create sales peaks for gift-box sets. Combined with TikTok Shop livestream promotions, orders may multiply within a short period of time.
If warehouse space and staffing remain fixed, capacity will be clearly insufficient during peak seasons and resources will be wasted during slower periods. Based on the brand’s sales forecasts and promotional schedule, HUIXIN can adjust warehousing resources and staffing in advance, ensuring that orders do not pile up during peak seasons and costs are not wasted during slower seasons.
VI. Bundles, Gift Boxes, and Subscription Boxes: Assembling Products from Different Suppliers into One SKU
Pet supplies are highly suitable for bundled sales.
A dog-walking set may include a collar, leash, waste-bag holder, and rolls of waste bags. A puppy starter gift box may include a collar, leash, toy, comb, food bowl, and training supplies. A grooming set may combine brushes, combs, nail clippers, and a storage bag.
These components often come from different factories, but they can be assembled into one complete sales SKU at the HUIXIN warehouse according to the brand’s packing requirements.
Subscription boxes and holiday gift boxes require an even higher level of this capability because their contents change almost every cycle. One shipment may contain two toys and one grooming accessory, while the next may use a completely different combination.
Based on the combination list and packaging instructions provided by the brand, HUIXIN can assemble puppy welcome boxes, holiday gift boxes, influencer gift boxes, promotional sets, and subscription boxes. There is no need to repeat the standard inbound and outbound process for each fixed SKU.
VII. Branded Packaging and Common Value-Added Services

For DTC pet brands that grow through social media and influencer marketing, packaging itself is part of the brand experience. However, goods shipped from factories are usually packed only in simple transparent bags or ordinary cartons.
HUIXIN can complete the final stage of branded processing on the warehouse side: relabeling, bundling, shrink-wrapping, coding, attaching hang tags, removing factory labels, replacing packaging with customized bags or gift boxes, and adding thank-you cards and instruction cards.
The factory only needs to focus on production. The final presentation is completed by the warehouse.
VIII. System Integration and Proactive Shipment Tracking
Brands usually already use their own systems. They may use Shopify together with an ERP, or they may also have a TMS or OMS connected.
HUIXIN does not require brands to change systems in order to cooperate. Instead, the warehouse-side WMS is connected with these systems. Orders are synchronized into the warehouse, which automatically generates picking tasks and deducts inventory. After shipment, the tracking number is synchronized back to the brand.
In addition to system-level integration, HUIXIN also takes an active role in logistics tracking. When an exception occurs while a package is in transit, we try to identify and handle it before the customer notices the problem, reducing complaints and negative reviews.
This work is not often mentioned in normal operations, but after order volume increases, these details often determine whether the customer experience is good or bad.
IX. Product Categories We Can Cover
HUIXIN can handle pet supplies including collars, leashes, pet toys, grooming tools, pet clothing, pet shoes, food bowls, waste-bag holders, travel products, pet bags, storage products, gift-box sets, and subscription boxes.
We can also handle products with expiration-date requirements, including chew treats, snacks, soft food, and canned food.
Different products have different sizes, SKU complexity, packaging requirements, and expiration-date control requirements, so the warehouse process is adjusted accordingly.
Products involving pet food, health supplements, medicines, or animal-derived ingredients may require additional import-compliance procedures according to the destination market.
What HUIXIN Can Provide
HUIXIN handles China-side 3PL execution for overseas pet brands, covering the entire process from supplier receiving, barcode-based quality inspection, SKU and expiration-date management, bundle assembly, repackaging, branded packaging, flexible warehousing during promotional seasons, and system integration to international shipping.
Brands do not need to manage a warehouse in China themselves, nor do they need to coordinate separately with multiple factories, packaging suppliers, and logistics providers. We handle this part for them.
